Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 PeterSample
Peter describes the holy, mature life to which Christians have been called: a life in which malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander have been laid aside. He calls believers to grow up spiritually because we are a chosen people built on Jesus Christ. Isaiah 28:16 is quoted by Peter. Jesus is the living Stone, our foundation. Those who believe in Him are living stones, built together into a spiritual temple, His Church and will never be put to shame. This growing up and building up, Peter writes, comes from the pure milk of God’s Word.
God’s Word is the source of our spiritual growth and unity as members of His Church. God's great purposes for the building of His church are built on Jesus and despite His rejection by the world, His Church triumphs and no one can thwart His purpose.
What obstacles are keeping you from getting your daily intake of God’s Word in order to grow and mature? Are you building your life upon Jesus or upon something else?
