The Comparison Game Sample
God's Plans For You Are Wonderful
Don't get caught up in the comparison game. It's easy to become discouraged when you compare your physical life with your friends. But did you know that when you compare your spiritual life to others it can also lead to feeling like you're not good enough? But there's good news. When you mess up God still loves and thinks about you, and has a wonderful plan for your life.
Psalm 139:17-18 paints the picture of God always having you on His mind. “God, Your thoughts about me are priceless. No one can possibly add them all up. If I could count them, they would be more than the grains of sand. If I were to fall asleep counting and then wake up, You would still be there with me." God loves you!
God knows every detail about your life. He knows when you are obedient to His word. He also knows when you dishonor your parents, cheat on tests, gossip and don't love others. He continues to love you when you make wrong choices. But His plans for your life include giving you peace when you ask for forgiveness, and turn away from your sin.
When you begin to see yourself the way God sees you, you can stop the comparison game and begin to love yourself more. You can even begin to love those who aren't fair, treat you unkindly or act like they are better than you, instead of seeing them as your enemy. God encourages us to pray for those who come against us.
Stop the Comparison Game. God created you in an incredible way! Take a minute to write down some things that God loves about you and ask Him to help you love yourself too!
