Lord, Answer My Prayer By Nina SmitSample
Believe that you have already received
In Mark 11:24, Jesus makes an incredible promise to His disciples: should they, while they are praying, believe that they have already received their prayer request, God would give it to them. He has the power to fulfill every promise in His Word. “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hands has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to my father David,” Solomon said in 2 Chronicles 6:4 (NIV).
Jesus’ promises regarding prayer are therefore true. However, the secret to this type of prayer is: check whether that which you ask God is His will for your life. You may know God’s will by living close to Jesus and submitting your life to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. Your prayers should always meet three requirements:
• Pray in the Name of Jesus;
• Pray that God be glorified; and
• Pray as directed by the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes it is quite difficult to know exactly what God’s will is. Although the Bible highlights certain aspects which are not according to God’s will (for example, that a believer not marry an unbeliever) and specifies other matters clearly as God’s will (for example, that everybody be saved and that we love one another), many things are not perfectly clear.
If you have doubts about whether the things you are asking God are in line with His will, see what your Bible says about these things and ask the Holy Spirit to explain God’s will to you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, it is incredible that I may receive everything I ask of You, provided I pray according to Your will, to Your glory and in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
