The Bible talks about the importance of brands (or identity) several times. In Ephesians, Paul discusses identity. He explains that when a person follows Christ, that they become a new person. This new identity we receive should be applied to our day-to-day lives. We must view ourselves in the same manner that God views us.
I believe that this new identity provides us with an inner sense of peace, and a confidence that we carry with us. This renewal, this branding that's marked within us will be easily recognized.
I recently had the opportunity to see Pastor Ben Prescott preach at my own church, who talked about this concept. He talked about his life before Christ. He stated that, years before he was saved, he spent a lot of time going out with friends. Pastor Prescott spoke on how, if you were to see a group heading home after a night of partying, that you would be able to tell where they have been just by looking at them. No words would need to be shared, it would be obvious that they had gone out just by looking at their demeanor.
As I was listening to his message, I begin to think about how this could apply to myself as a business-owner.
I thought about how I would want someone to feel the presence of God whenever they walked through the front door of my office. How I want my belief to echo in all that I do.
My identity, my brand, should be quickly and easily recognized by anyone who crosses paths with me. It should be known without having to be spoken. It should be noticed by all who I interact with. If I can take my faith-based brand, and attract others towards me, perhaps I can lead them to the one whose brand I represent.
