MOTION X: Living In MOTIONSample

We often equate our calling to what we do or accomplish for God. We measure ourselves based off our success or failure. However, when we look at Scripture, we will see that God’s calling for our life is different than what we think. When God speaks to our calling, He chooses to address who we are before He ever acknowledges what we do. Our desire to follow Jesus grows when we know in our heart that we are who He says we are. 

Think about it this way. If you were to adopt a puppy, it would take time for it to respond to its new name. You might call out to it to come and get no response. However once the puppy learns its name, it will begin to follow your command and experience the fullness of your love.

It’s the same way in our relationship with Christ. When we know our name, we will hear when our Master calls out to us. Obedience will no longer be a burden, but a delight because in it we will find protection and experience the fullness of His love.
