It All Starts With A Budget!Sample
Remember, budgeting is not just for tracking our expenses, but it can also help us reach our financial goals. As such, we must start with our end goal in mind. When I wanted to get out of credit card debt, I remember making a clear determination that I would reach my goal by a certain date. More importantly, I understood exactly how much money it would take for me to reach my goal.
P.O.W.E.R. Goal
When I encourage others about reaching their financial goals, I often share this concept that I created many years ago. I often referred to it as a P.O.W.E.R. goal! It simply means:
- Pray and plan over your goal
- One specific goal
- Write it out
- Empower it with action
- Read it daily
For me, creating a P.O. W.E.R. goal has helped me to stay within budget, because I knew if I was able to spend within my limits, I would have the funds needed to pay down my debt.
So what’s your goal?
Do you want to save for your children’s education? Do you want to simply have a rainy day fund? Do you want to get an idea of what it will take in order to transform your finances? Write out your P.O.W.E.R. goal and keep it visible daily until it comes to pass. Remember, you must first start with a prayer and a BUDGET!
