Rest in the knowledge that you are loved: ‘we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.’

Neither goodness nor love are qualities that God merely possesses – they are the essence of his being. God loves because his nature is to love. To imagine that God does not love us is to deny his true nature and to repudiate his character.
