Day Five
The Battle For Identity
For about three years as a teenager I was so shy I could not speak in a room that had more than three people in it. Today, I know that God has created me to be a communicator. I am an extroverted and talkative writer and speaker.
I started the journey of overcoming and discovering who I was by encountering God’s love for me. Then I went on a mission trip that ignited a passion within me to help people and change the world for God’s glory. I took risks and served in ways that were out of my comfort zone. I got freedom from the deep rejection that had caused me to believe the lies that had held me captive.
I started to learn about the unique way that God has wired me: my personality, strengths, and spiritual gifts. Understanding these things gave me the language to communicate how God has made me.
Personal struggles can often point to an area that God has called you to lead others to victory in. The enemy will attack you in a way that will attempt to undermine what God has called you to do. Where have you struggled? Maybe that is just the thing that God has created you for.
