Illuminate: A 21-Day JourneySample
Day 11: By God's Grace
The beauty of this journey is that everything we have is a gift from God. It’s like when we were kids and we got an unexpected gift from our parents. How happy were we? What did it prompt us to do? Take a second and read Ephesians 2:1–10 before reading the reflection. As you read this passage, focus on the grace of God. Pay attention especially to verse 10 as you consider God’s reason for his grace.
Reflection
As the Scripture indicated, God saved us not because we earned or deserved it. Rather, he did it so he could point to us as examples of his incredible grace and love. Even more encouraging, he then created us anew, wiping away the old mess that often characterized our lives so we could do the “good things he planned for us long ago.” We must remember that as we look to live illuminated lives, God’s grace is the fuel that helps us shine bright. And by faith, through his grace, we can turn our attention to the good things that he desires to do through us!

About this Plan
Coming off a retreat or revival? What next? You and I are the church of Jesus Christ on earth today, the visible representation of an invisible God. We have the Holy Spirit living within us, and have been commissioned to shine (illuminate) his love in the midst of a dark world. But what does that mean? How did we get here? And what do we do with all of this? All good questions, and if you stick with us through this journey, we are confident that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the light within you that God intends to use to illuminate the world!
