Luke 15 is one of the most popular passages in the entire Bible because of the story that it tells. Jesus tells a story about forgiveness like no other. A man's son takes a massive portion of his father's money, which in this day in age, was essentially telling your father that you wish they were not alive. The son then goes and wastes all the money, only to come back to his father. What is crazy, is that his father ends up forgiving him and welcoming him back into the family. The father is forgiving and willing to forgive his son beyond any measure. This is how God wants us to forgive. God wants us to forgive others time and time again, no matter how bad they hurt you. This does not mean you have to completely trust them immediately, but it is about restoring relationship, just as God has restored the relationship between Him and us. Today let's forgive someone. Think of someone who you need to forgive and then forgive them. If you cannot tell them, then tell God that you forgive that person.
