On Mission to March Madness

Dag 2 av 4

The Need for a Reset

There are times when the best course of action is to stop and see where we are.

We live in a world centered on “doing.” We are often asked, “What are you doing right now?” Our society values lengthy to-do lists and full calendars. We go from point A to point B, all while having point Z in mind. Corrie Ten Boom once said, “If the devil can’t make you sin, he’ll make you busy.” Sin and busyness can have a similar effect: they both hinder your connection to God and even to your own soul. In a whirlwind of “doing” things, we oftentimes need to reset our heart and mind. Natalie Chou shares how she resets her heart and mind in the midst of a full schedule of a college athlete.

God is a generous giver of good things. The ability to handle many varied responsibilities is a privilege and gift. But we must remember to set and keep our primary focus on our connection to God. Praise the Lord that He promises that when we seek Him, we will find him. The key piece is we must seek Him with our whole heart. To have an undivided heart, we must pause, reset our sights on God, and learn to listen to His voice every day.

Application Questions:

  • How can you take time to “reset” your heart and mind on God today?
  • Take inventory of the tasks and worries that may be on your mind today; surrender those to God and press into His truth today.

On Mission to March Madness

When March Madness is in full swing and a championship is in sight, how do players keep focused on what matters most? There is great pressure that comes from playing at this level. Players and coaches must stay sharp and keep their emotions in check. God's Word can help do that. We bring you inside the journey of NCAA athletes who are trusting God on and off the court.
