The Bride Gets Ready

A key element in John’s vision of the revelation of Christ is the marriage imagery. In his picture the groom is standing ready; the bride has ‘made herself ready.’ How ready are we to meet our Lord and Savior? If we really saw ourselves as the cherished bride of Christ, what would need to change today? How clean, pure are we; how dedicated, committed are we to Him and His Kingdom?



Prayer: Father God, I’m struck once again with the immense privilege you’ve given us as the ‘bride of Christ.’ This is huge! It is personal. It is exciting. Thank you for the love and sacrifice necessary to bring about this union. I can’t wait until the enormous, spectacular wedding the apostle John writes about. I’m going to be there! In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.
