The Character of a Wise Woman, a 10-Day Plan by Allison DanielsVoorbeeld
A wise woman positions herself to see both the hardship and the opportunity.
2 Samuel 20:16 - a wise woman called from the city, "Listen! Listen! Tell Joab to come here so I can speak to him."
We have no idea where the wise woman came from. Yet it is clear she was somewhere in the vicinity to know that Joab was about to take the city under siege. She was not afraid of what was to come. She was not moved by the impending danger.
Right in the middle of the opposition, the wise woman saw an opportunity. She saw a chance to speak and turn this situation around for God's glory. She made an intentional decision to use her influence to accomplish the will of God.
Friend, a woman of wisdom, knows the importance of staying in place to be used by God, whatever the season may bring. Good days and bad days - the wise woman of God stands through it all. She does not move to a place of comfort just because it gets hard. She does not retreat. She is watching, listening, and observing, and when God says, "Go!" - she responds quickly in full obedience.
Reflection: What do you see happening in your life? Is it a challenge, or is it a moment for the Word and power of God to rise in you? Do you see an opportunity to proclaim life to that which seems impossible?
Verse: James 1:5 | Colossians 3:2 | Isaiah 50:7
