Waging Prophetic Warfareနမူနာ
Building Yourself up for War
Praying in the Spirit is a prerequisite to waging prophetic warfare. Think about it for a minute: before a soldier goes to war, he goes through grueling physical training to prepare himself for the battlefield. Take the US Army Basic Combat Training as an example.
The training aims to transform a civilian into a soldier in ten weeks. The training prepares soldiers physically and mentally so they can withstand the physical strain of combat. Why should it be any different in the spirit?
We are in a war, and that means we will fight many battles before our ultimate victory. Before we head to the battlefield, we need to be physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared for what we might face so we can withstand the strain of spiritual combat. Remember, the battle is largely against our souls— our mind, will, and emotions—so we need to build ourselves up in our most holy faith to stand and withstand in the evil day.
We need to build up our spirit man for war so our spirit man will lead and we will not be sidelined by our mind, will, and emotions.
Praying in the Spirit does much more than prepare us for war, but getting us ready to go toe-to-toe with principalities and powers in a supernatural wrestling match is certainly one of the benefits. Jude wasn’t merely making a friendly suggestion when he said, “Pray in the Holy Spirit.”
He was offering a prophetic warfare strategy that will keep our spirits prepared for war and make us strong in the Lord and the power of His might so we won’t back down from the good fight of faith.
