There are a lot of misconceptions in the minds of Christians and especially Christian artists who think that if they make money from their art, somehow they are selling out, taking advantage of the situation, or even desecrating the gift God has given them. Many artists simply don't believe that they can create and sell their artwork in the marketplace to clients who authentically connect with them and will pay top dollar for their work. There's a disconnect between making and selling art and God's plan for their life. Usually, that comes out of a belief that being an artist just means that they're supposed to scrape by on the bare minimum or even give their art away. That's simply not true.

In reality, no matter what you’re called to do, God’s promise is the same: to guide your steps, provide for your every need, prosper you in all your ways and make you a blessing. Wow, what a promise! Of course, that’s all predicated on the fact that your life is submitted to Him, and you’re cultivating an intimate relationship with God every day. In that context, everything is possible!

Imagine living a life full of joy, freedom, and creative inspiration. Imagine creating unique and desirable art, then seeing God use your art to transform the lives of others. And Imagine God using your art to provide income for you and your family so you can be blessed and be a blessing to others. Imagine having the financial freedom to pursue the things God has for you as an artist, rather than working a dead-end job that brings you no fulfillment. It's entirely possible in the Kingdom under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

What lies have you believed about making money, receiving provision, and selling your work in the marketplace? Ask God to show you His truth and then create an affirmation to support that new truth. Every time the enemy comes at you with the lies from the past, simply recognize it, repent, replace it with the truth of God’s Word, reinforce that truth over and over, and then rejoice in your new Kingdom reality. Over time, your normal response will begin to align with God’s best for your life.
