No-So-Cool School Days

You're sitting at your school desk, staring at the test. The only sounds in the room are the scratching of pencils and the teacher shuffling her papers. Everyone else is working away, but you have no idea how to even get started. The words on the page are just a jumble. You have no idea what to do, and you can already tell this is going to be yet another bad grade.

Has this ever happened to you? For some, school is a breeze, but for others, school is a nightmare. Maybe you feel this way because you never can seem to figure out how to do the work. Maybe it’s just in reading or math or science, or maybe it’s all the subjects. You listen. You pay attention. But there are some things you just can’t seem to figure out.

Or maybe it’s not the schoolwork. Maybe it’s a tough teacher, a difficult classmate, or a lack of friends. Whatever the reason, school can be hard sometimes. And it can make you feel trapped because you still have to go every day.

But you don’t have to go alone. God is with you, and He promises to give you the strength you need to keep going. Does that mean He’ll give you the answers to that big test? No. But it does mean that He’ll help you remember you’re so much more important than any number or grade or popularity test. And no matter what your report card says, you’re a star student to Him.

Lord, when school is tough, show me that I'm so much more important to You than any number or grade. Amen.
