You're frustrated because you keep waiting for the blooming of flowers of which you have yet to sow the seeds. As I was writing this, I had to reevaluate my own life. So many times, I just expected God to give, give, give, but didn’t really want to do the work. I had a hands-open mentality. I found myself waiting, often with the expectation of God to work in my life. I would think, maybe God is teaching me patience? Yet, while I was waiting for Him, I wasn’t preparing. I wasn’t planting seeds and allowing Him to water. I expected flowers, but no dirt. I had done no work to plant and cultivate within me the gifts and dreams God had given me. I wanted results, but I wasn’t willing to be pruned. It required pain, and I wasn’t having it. So I encourage anyone who is waiting: Prepare for what’s to come. Stop waiting for perfection or the next big sign. Stop using your waiting season as an excuse to not work on what God has placed inside of you. Keep working, keep dreaming. Never stop using opportunities as tools to grow. Flowers take time to produce. Are you using your time wisely as you prepare for your seeds to take root?
Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. JAMES 1:22 NIV
God, thank You for providing even the smallest details. May I not take for granted the things I already have. May I find joy in this season, peace in knowing that You are working on my behalf. Allow me to trust in the process and be obedient to what You need for me to get done.
