How Christians Can Celebrate Chanukah

HARI 8 DARIPADA 8

"Celebrating Chanukah – 8th Night"

God has made His wonders to be remembered (Psalm 111:4). We will remember.

Tonight is the 8th and final night of Chanukah. With each night, the Chanukah gifts have grown in value, and the light from the Chanukiah has grown brighter. Chanukah gives thanks to God for the miracle He did to make one day’s oil burn for eight days, providing light in the newly rededicated Temple. During this Festival of Lights and Dedication, Messianic Judaism also honors the Light of the World, the Giver of Life, and the Forgiver of Sins – Yeshua (Jesus).

As the light from the Chanukiah grows brightest tonight, we recognize the priceless gifts God has given us: the marvelous light of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Messiah), the purity and holiness of God, His miracles in our lives and His great provision for us. We remember how His light overcomes the darkness and how with God we stand victorious. Confronted with such gifts from God, we are inspired to wholeheartedly rededicate ourselves to Him.

Chanukah Blessings

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has sanctified us by His commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world.

Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.

Rededicating Ourselves to the Lord

“Commit your way to Adonai. Trust in Him…” (Psalm 37:5 TLV).

“Commit yourself to the Lord…” (Psalm 22:8 NASB).

“…so that He might come to have first place in all things…” (Colossians 1:18 TLV).

Yeshua, You were born, lived, and died for one purpose: to give us eternal life with God. You are before all things, and in You all things hold together (Colossians 1:17). You gave up Your rightful place in Heaven to come to earth and be the way, the truth, and the life for us (John 14:6). You alone are worthy of all praise. We give You our hearts anew tonight and commit ourselves to You. We give You endless thanks for Your matchless love! May we give ourselves more fully to You each day so that You may come to have first place in all things in our lives.

Thank You, Father, for all that You are, and for Your great love for us. We will remember Your wonders, and we will give You thanks forever! In Yeshua’s name we pray.
