Six Truths to Simply Choose

HARI 5 DARIPADA 6

Feeling Victorious.

Something about me? I love the moon. One of my favorite things is when a full moon is rising against the backdrop of my city’s skyline. My drive home becomes one big game of hide-and-seek as I try to catch glimpses of the bright sphere in between dark buildings.

Something else about me? I failed one class in college. Astronomy. I had to take a science elective and thought the study of the sky would be fun. Here’s the thing: astronomy is filled with math, physics and chemistry. I struggled (still do) with all of those my entire school career and would sit in lecture after lecture, not understanding anything my professor was saying. Lab was a different story, as I could do all the hands-on stuff, and I passed that portion. Sadly, it didn’t help my lecture grade at all. That final grade left me feeling defeated.

There are days even now where I feel defeated, not because of a class, but from other failures, lies, and sins that leave me feeling broken down and unsuccessful. Troubles are inevitable; we know this, but failure is not where we are to plant our feet.

The Word tells us that victory has been given to us by the Cross, and our troubles here are only momentary. Victory, in this sense, doesn’t necessarily mean that we will be the best at everything or always be on top; it’s not possible. This is a greater victory. The ultimate victory. One that triumphs death and takes away the sting of sin! A victory for now.

No more waiting, we have already won and overcome.

Read 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, 16-18 and take note of what sticks out to you in these verses.

Choose How can you choose to live in victory today?

Reflect What momentary troubles are you experiencing? Invite Jesus into them.

Pray Jesus, thank You for the victory of the Cross and the triumph over death. I pray I will remember that my troubles here are momentary and that life in You means a life of eternal victory.
