21 Days of Prayer - Persevere

DAY 21 OF 21

When No One Believes in You

Can you imagine the looks Noah must have gotten as he began building the ark? When people asked what he was doing, did he explain? Did he try to warn them, or did he keep quiet? Can you imagine the crowd of people standing with disbelief and judgment as animals of all kinds walked onto the ark? Can you imagine what they said about Noah and his family when they entered the ark and shut the door, never to see any of them again?

I will go out on a limb and say people must have thought Noah was crazy. If he had tried to explain what was coming and warned them, chances are the people wouldn’t have believed him. Otherwise, they would’ve tried to get on that boat, too!

If you’ve ever felt like no one believed in you, know that you are not alone. Noah, among many other Scripture characters and believers today, knows exactly how you feel.

When faced with an impossible task coupled with the disbelief of others, it can become debilitatingly discouraging. Often, we seek the support and approval of others when facing difficult things because we feel stronger when we have others in our corner.

I want to encourage you today that God is for you even if no one believes in you. If you respond to God’s call, He will provide everything you need, including the support, courage, and resources to accomplish the task He’s purposed for you. Even if no one believes in you, let your belief in God be enough to keep persevering. When you depend on God, you will surely get to where He wants you to go--and you don’t have to have a fan club or crowd of people cheering you on to get there.

This 21 Days of Prayer resource is designed to help you study different characters in the Bible who showed perseverance when faced with various obstacles.
