The Word of God as Guide
To put it simply, there are times in our lives when the Word of God lights up our path like a bright light, illuminating with precision the choices to be made, revealing the bends and the speed to be adopted. Everything becomes clear, and we know exactly where we're going. This is the "Your Word is a light unto my path" period.
However, there are times when everything seems more complex. This is the period: Your Word is a lamp to my feet. Referring to Psalm 119:105, this light at our feet evokes the image of a lamp used in the past by caravans, moving slowly and cautiously, watching over every step. During these seasons, our vision does not extend far ahead, limiting itself to the necessary step by step.
The Bible warns us that there will be times when His Word will be a lamp to our feet. In these times, God does not expect us to win conquests or accomplish feats, but rather to surrender, transform and grow. The emphasis is not on the destination, but on how we take each step, and with whom.
We are invited to reflect on what is happening in our hearts, to choose to trust God step by step, to have faith in His Word. These seasons require us to trust deeply, even if we cannot see our way clearly, because we are called to trust each step guided by the light of His Word.
