Miracle in the Making: 5 Devotions for Expectant Momsनमुना
Have you ever felt like you were waiting for something for an eternity? Have you ever wondered if God was simply not listening to a prayer coming from the depths of your soul? For many expectant mothers, you’ve been waiting for and praying for this specific season to come. Perhaps you and your husband spent years trying to get pregnant. Through fertility treatments, doctors' visits, disappointing months, and countless prayers, maybe you thought that God would never show up. But now He has! Or, on the other hand, perhaps this pregnancy was unexpected in your own plans and timing. Maybe you had a big shock when you found out you were pregnant. Why did God choose now? Why couldn’t He have waited just a little longer, to when you might have felt more ready? Whatever your pregnancy story has been, God has chosen now. Right now. We may not understand His ways and His purposes, but His timing is always best.
Our part in His timing is to simply accept it and to trust in His plans. For creatures who like the illusion of control, this is hard to do. Pregnancy will illuminate our lack of control more than many other seasons in our lives. We can’t control the timing of our pregnancy. God is the One who creates life, not us. We can’t control when the baby comes, or if he or she will be premature or right on time. But we can put our trust in the Lord with all of our heart and learn to lean on His understanding, not ours. That might mean that your pregnancy journey looks different than you imagined, but God has a plan in mind. You can lean into Him.
God, thank You that You've chosen this season in my life to bring this little life into the world. You've known all along that this timing would be best. I trust in Your big plan for my life and for the life of my baby. Amen.
