Anxiety, Depression and Lonelinessनमुना
Whatever Is Good
Where do anxiety and depression come from? They are related to the past and the future. Depression comes because of your past. Maybe you have been through things that made you suffer, maybe someone hurt you, and that memory makes you feel depressed. Anxiety has to do with your future. What will happen tomorrow?
We cannot expect that church people church will not suffer from depression, anxiety, and even loneliness. It is a fact outside and inside our churches. However, it is also a fact that God so loved the world that He gave His Only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. If you do not believe this truth, on top of being depressed, you are sinning because not believing God is a sin.
You can find anxiety in the future and depression in the past. However, the present holds what you want the most: life, health, and peace. You can be healed today, free of depression and anxiety. You can come back to a relationship with Jesus today. God is giving you a way out of those long nights where you think you will not see the light of day: Your relationship with Christ. Paul says in his letter to the Philippians, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
God is giving you the right medicine at the right moment. Think of what is true, honest, pure, lovely, and commendable; Christ is all that, and He is all those things. When you think of your relationship with Jesus, instead of thinking about the things that weigh you down, those nights can become the greatest victory God has given you!
Health is my reality in Jesus Christ. I do not know what will happen tomorrow, but God will take care of me today and will do the same tomorrow. If I have been through hard times in the past, God already paid for that, and today I am living in Christ.
Meditate on this today: my relationship with God is my thermometer of how much time I spend reading and believing the Word of God.

We have all been through moments of loneliness, anxiety, and sorrow. Many of the people in the Bible have been as well. Their stories should inspire us to look for answers in the Scriptures. The problem with these emotions—anxiety, depression, and loneliness— is that we often give them too much power over us. We must choose to give that power to the Word of God.
