The Choosing of David नमुना
New Chapters
Did you realize, aside from Jesus, that more Scripture is written about David than any other biblical character? There are 66 chapters about him, and 56 of those are referenced in the New Testament. He also wrote 73 of the 150 Psalms. David was a musician, leader, warrior, and poet. He had some deep lows in his life and some incredible highs; yet through it all, God said, “He is a man after my own heart.”
I want us to see what God has for us...that just like David was unlikely to be chosen, so are we. In 1st Samuel 16, we read about David being chosen to be the next king. Saul was king at the time, but the prophet Samuel was sent by God to find the next chosen king, who happened to be David. Samuel filled a canteen with oil and went upon his journey. Usually, a canteen would be filled with water or wine, but he knew this journey would be about an anointing.
While David was a shepherd in the fields, God was preparing him. The Lord is also doing this in your life and mine. He is preparing us from the beginning for what the end will be. It says in Scripture that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. God is the Alpha and Omega. He knows the beginning and the end. However, we don't, which makes us a bit nervous. Samuel too was afraid. He knew that his search for the next king could get him killed by Saul.
New chapters are scary. But, just as Samuel did, continue to obey the Lord. It is human nature to like the known, the things we are accustomed to. We can get so used to specific chapters in our life that a new one is intimidating. New chapters are not always fun; some are even painful. Samuel asked God the “what if” questions too. But God did not even answer. He told him to get ready for his journey, and Samuel obeyed Him.
There are times we will ask God, “What if?” but He wants us to fix our eyes on Him. Focus on Him, and He will take care of everything else. Are you walking into a new chapter? Obey, walk with God, and trust Him.
Dwell on the fantastic thought that God has chosen you!

The obvious choice is not always God’s choice: that’s what David shows us. Just as David was an unlikely selection, so are we, but God chose us! Let’s be faithful where we are, knowing that God sees our hearts and takes us wherever He wants us to be.
