Fruitful Now and Fulfilled in the Future नमुना
LIGHT FOR CONFIDENT LIVING
The future is unseen and may seem dark, but God provides His light. We need not be dismayed. The Psalmist says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” His word is like a hurricane lamp or a flood light that can light up our path, setting a direction for our life. He will tell us where to seek out a job, how to meet immediate needs, and even show us a career we could choose for the future.
We can draw encouragement from the way God, in a very personal, real and meaningful way, led the Israelites through the treacherous wilderness. By day He was leading them with the pillar of clouds, and at night with the pillar of fire. It was not a case of God sitting on a throne somewhere in heaven and sending the pillars without Him. God Himself was in the pillar of cloud and pillar of fire. He went with them. So, whatever danger may be lurking around the corner, or whatever giants are ready ambush us, God promises to go with us to fight our battles.
Jesus is the ultimate light. The light of God was manifested in the person of Jesus Christ in all its power, purpose and glory. Jesus lived His life to leave a pattern for us and His wisdom will bring light to any dark situation in life. Should we pay taxes? How should we relate to a hostile government? How do I respond when I am cheated? How should I plan my finances? The Word of God and the life of the Word can inform every decision we have to make.
“What would Jesus do?” was a powerful movement in the past. Paul said, “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).” Paul showed that it is possible to know how Christ lived and to imitate Him. When we have Christ, we have light (John 1:4) in our present and our future. We can be sure of not getting lost, faltering or falling. In His light we can claim new ground of opportunity and navigate any sea of difficulty.
