Get Your Gear On: Part 2
Okay, yesterday you learned a bit more about the first three pieces of your special gear, also known as the armor of God. You learned some ways that truth, righteousness, and peace will help you stand strong against all kinds of evil.
Today, you’ll learn about the next two pieces of armor—plus a bonus! Watch this video for more on that!
God’s promises are real. Your confidence in His faithfulness will shield you like a force field of faith.
You don’t have time for mind games. Rest assured that God sent Jesus to rescue you. Let salvation point your head in the right direction. See things for what they really are.
And, the bonus gear: Learn God’s Word and apply it. Don’t miss the “and apply it” part! It won’t help you to know God’s Word if you don’t choose to do what it says.
Stay sharp. Suit up! And everyone—seen and unseen—will know whose side you’re on!
Ask yourself: Which of today’s pieces of armor or bonus gear do I need to use more often?
Challenge yourself: Do the same drawing exercise you did with yesterday’s challenge. Draw your answer to today’s question in the center of a piece of paper. Around it, write all the things that piece of armor or God’s Word will help you to fight. For example: If you chose focusing on the shield of faith, you could write, “I’ll use this when I start doubting whether God is working in my life.”
Pray: God, thank You for giving me strength through remembering how good You’ve always been to me. Thank You for sending Jesus to make me right with You. Thank You for everything You’ve written in Your Word to give me strength, courage, and to help me know what’s right. I choose to stand in Your power every day of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
