Misplaced Treasures
READY
“’…Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” Luke 12:20-21 NLT
SET
If you’re running to win but you think about things that only matter on the outside, it will won’t last long. It’s important to have spiritual goals. Things like watching too much TV, being on our phones, eating junk food constantly can get in the way of being excellent. For Jesus, we must try to do all things for Him. We need to care about the inside.
We can look at the Scripture passage about the guy who had the barns, was very blessed, and said he was going to build bigger barns and store all of his important things. But God said to him, “You’re a fool because all these things will be taken from you this very night.”
"Where is your soul? That’s the thing that’s going to last. Excellence without service, or excellence without teamwork is excellence for only your purpose. It all has to come into balance. We must think of God in all that we do so that He gets the glory. In the end, God offers us eternal life and relationship with Him when we do!" - Tony Dungy
