Moving Beyond Where I Am Stuckनमुना
DAY FIVE: Move beyond.
Have you ever started a project that was off to an incredible start, but then it got to be too much or perhaps you had other things pop up that prevented you from putting in the same time and effort and it was all up to you to keep it going or watch it crash down? It can feel like such a heavy burden when we carry the weight of momentum on our own backs.
The beautiful thing about God is that our relationship doesn’t hinge on our ability to maintain it. We didn’t choose Him, He chose us first. That means when we feel overwhelmed or confused and we hesitate, when we wander away and get lost on our own paths, when we forget about Him in the midst of our chaos, He remains steady in His love for us. Even when we let go of Him, He never lets go of us. We did not create this relationship with Him and we cannot lose it. The same is true of our faith. As the Author and Perfecter of our faith, He is the one who started this good work in us and He is the one who will bring it to completion.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us God created us with works in mind – things that He has been preparing for us to do. In other words, He is ready to go. He has done all the heavy lifting for us and we just need to take the bold step of saying yes and allowing Him to do what only He can do. We will get where we’re going because we were created for this, we are in partnership with Him, and we are surrounded by a community of people He has strategically placed in our lives. As long as we’re saying yes to Him and allowing Him to work in us, we will experience all that He has for us – on this day and in the days to come.
What things might God be calling you to step into that go beyond what you think you’re capable of? What are some ways you can say yes today to move toward those things?
