OUR LIVES ARE HIS

Isaiah had been called to be a Prophet, a servant of the Lord, even before he was born. God had a great vision for the prophet Isaiah, not only to bring the Israelites back to God but also to be the light of the nations. The Prophet is the mouthpiece of God to convey God's message to His people exactly as commanded, both of salvation and of judgment.

The Israelites often rejected advice they did not like when the prophet gave a reprimand or warning. All they wanted was to hear sweet and pleasant words. False prophets only said sweet things while the prophet who came from God would say what God wanted to say. The prophet Isaiah, in his duties as a prophet, was persecuted for telling the truth. They even spat on him.

In the persecution he faced, Isaiah remained obedient and faithful to God. Today, in the life of a Christian, the term "servant of God" is not only for pastors, preachers, or ministers, but for everyone who has been redeemed by Jesus Christ from the bondage of sin.

As servants of God, our whole lives belong to Him, including our bodies. Therefore, whatever we do, we must realize that our lives are not ours anymore. Like the prophet Jeremiah who obeyed his calling as a prophet, we must be willing to lay our lives down for others.

Both our lives and our bodies belong to Christ, so we have no right to use God's property in vain.
