Listening To The Word - 1 Yearनमुना
Generosity and Worship
Exodus 23:15-17
“Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread;…No one is to appear before me empty handed. Celebrate the Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crops you sow in your field. Celebrate the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field. Three times a year all the men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord.”
Acts 5:20
“Go…tell the people the full message of this new life.”
We sometimes reduce salvation to solving a sin problem and are unaware, or forget, that salvation is a doorway to a new life. This new life in Christ is the full message of salvation. Jesus is our new King, and all we have is his. The three feasts commanded in the first covenant with Israel were all fulfilled in Christ. The purpose of the feasts was to remind God’s people that their life came from him, and this called for gratitude and worship. We can’t come to God empty handed when our life comes from Him. He is the Sovereign Lord, the King of kings. Gratitude in worship and in generosity proclaims that we understand that all we have comes from God.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the new life you have given to me. I repent for a lack of gratitude, and choose again today to be generous with all you have given me.
