Cut it Out or Cut it Off

Jesus is very clear here - if we even look at a man or woman lustfully we have committed adultery. In our culture, things like this are treated with levity and with little to no seriousness or worry. Jesus takes a different approach - either we quit sinning, or we cut off our right hand that causes us to sin. Either we stop looking at others lustfully or we gouge out our eye. Obviously Jesus is being extreme to make a point, but it certainly is true that it would be better to enter heaven with one less body part than to spend eternity in Hell with our body in tact.

Take a few moments this morning to reflect on how serious you take the command to not allow lustful thoughts in your mind, and then commit from here on out to follow God, even in your thought life.
