Who Does God Say I Am?नमुना
The Comparison Game
Did you know God created you unique from everyone else on earth? There may be people who have the same color hair or eyes or even the same name as you, but God made each person on earth completely different.
It’s so easy for us to play the comparison game. To want what others have. To become what others are. We want to be accepted and loved. But if we try to blend ourselves into the world—the people around us, our culture—if we fill our lives with random things we think will help us, we can end up someone totally different from who God intended for us to be. We will have thrown away our true selves. Remember that God made us the way we are for a reason. He values who we are.
That may be a strange thing to think about … here’s a great clip of Pastor Sam Roberts explaining more.
Ask yourself: Have I been re-inventing myself based on how others act or what others have or do? How can I change that and be who God made me to be?
Challenge yourself: Go outside and see if you can see or hear a bird. Think about today’s reading from Matthew 10. If God cares about the little birds and how they find food and shelter, He will also find joy in caring for you, His most valued creation.
Pray: God, thank You for making me who You made me to be, like nobody else. Help me to remember that You call me valuable. Help me to stop comparing myself to others and focus on what You have for my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
