The Flesh Profiteth Nothing.

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63 KJV

God’s Word is spirit and is life. Notice in John 6:63 KJV, the Bible uses the word: ‘life’, “...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for ‘life‘ is zōē (G2222) which means: “The absolute fullness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypostatic "logos" and to Christ in whom the "logos" put on human nature.” God’s Word is the absolute fullness of life. There is nothing that can satisfy you — His Word is all encompassing and is life itself.

When you choose to hold on to the offense of the past, you’re choosing to imprison your heart to the moment of the offense. Offense will harden your heart. Forgive and let the matter go. When you rehearse the offense of the past by consistently meditating on the transgression, you’ll harden areas of your heart that God wants to heal. If you keep your focus on the offense, rather than focusing on God’s Word, you’ll keep your heart bound. Offense was designed to ensnare your destiny and enslave your heart.

Every time you rehearse and meditate on the offense of the past, your heart is imprisoned to the moment of the offense. The enemy sent the offense to paralyze your future by causing you to focus on the offense of the past. Offense triggers the moment that you were disrespected, dishonored, abandoned, or rejected. Choose to let it go. When you are in Christ your past and past offenses have no lordship over your future. Allow God to heal your heart completely. God’s Word was designed to heal you. Crush your flesh and allow God to heal the deepest parts of your heart.
