Power Read The Bible In 60 Days With Jeff Andersonनमुना
Day 31
HALFTIME
[Scheduled Reading: Proverbs 1-19]
Today is the beginning of the second half. You’ve read thru half the Bible in 30 days. That’s pretty cool.
We’re now digging into Solomon’s writings. It’s hard to believe that for a man who shipwrecked his faith late in life, so many precious texts are attributed to him.
It’s ironic that one of the snares Solomon speaks to - the adulteress - was the very snare that trapped Solomon.
Actually it may not have been adultery that snared Solomon. (How does a man with 1,000 wives and concubines commit adultery?!) More specifically, it was that Solomon married foreign wives and they turned his heart to their foreign gods.
Not wise.
Still, Solomon’s timeless proverbs holds true. Somehow Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, missed these gems.
