Blessings

May the Lord bless you and protect you; may the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you.

NUMBERS 6:24–25 CSB

If you tried to count all your blessings, how long would it take? A very, very long time. After all, you’ve been given the priceless gift of life here on earth and the promise of life eternal in heaven. And you’ve been given so much more.

Life itself, every bit of health that we enjoy, every hour of liberty and free enjoyment, the ability to see, to hear, to speak, to think, and to imagine- all this comes from the hand of God. We show our gratitude by giving back to Him a part of that which He has given to us. That’s sound advice for believers—followers of the One from Galilee—who have so much to be thankful for.

Your blessings, all of which are gifts from above, are indeed too numerous to count, but it never hurts to begin counting them anyway. It never hurts to say thanks to the Giver for the gifts you can count, and all the other ones too.

God is the giver, and we are the receivers. And His riches are gifted not upon those who do the greatest things, but upon those who accept His abundance and His grace.
