Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 5

23-с 4 дахь өдөр

In the Kingdom Jesus was introducing, we immediately see that this was not the everyday type of kingdom the world expected it to be. The best way to describe this Kingdom was to call it an “upside-down kingdom”. The standards set were completely different.

Jesus was introducing servanthood to be at the core of this kingdom which was not a term you could mention in the same sentence with words such as greatness, power, and might.

But that was exactly the point Jesus was making - greatness is not found in the exercising of power, being served or being able to command others. Greatness is found in humbling yourself before God and serving, which makes sense when you read the next verse (verse 28), and Jesus says: “…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
