During Christ’s transfiguration, his clothing “became as bright as a flash of lightning” (Luke 9:29).

In Acts 9, Saul of Tarsus was blinded by him.

God himself will be the light for the New Jerusalem.

Isaiah says, “For the Lord will be your everlasting light” (60:19). John says further, “And the Lamb is its lamp” (Revelation 21:23). He saw what Isaiah couldn’t: the city’s light is the Messiah himself.

Christ will forever remain human, but his once veiled deity will shine through. The day is coming when Christ the God-man will be the ultimate image-bearer, fully conveying the brightness of the Almighty.
