HOT MESS TO MIRACLE

Legos were scattered everywhere, and apple juice and deli meat were smeared on the floor. There were action figures and race cars lined up on the couch.

The icing on the cake: I had just steamed my floors.

I felt defeated.

This was a “just breathe and pray mama” moment. So I took a deep breath, asked GOD to renew my mind, and invited the kids to help clean up.

“Okay kids, we have four minutes and thirty seconds to quickly clean up the living room. Are you ready? We have to march around like soldiers and get the job done!”

My kids looked up at me and yelled, “Yes, mama!!”

I could hardly believe my kids were actually excited to clean up.

As I ran to turn on the stove timer, I felt joy rise in my heart. Maybe this would work!

Y’all, they quickly began cleaning up and when they were done they were so proud of themselves (I was proud too)!

It felt like a modern-day miracle! Less than 30 minutes ago they were kicking and screaming how they didn't want to clean up.

GOD used this moment to remind me that He is more than able to take messy situations and create miracles from them.

SOUL CARE TIP

Talk with your little ones about the materialistic things that GOD has blessed your family with. Explain to them that as Christians, GOD calls us to be good stewards of them. Cleaning up and taking care of them shows gratitude to GOD.
