How to Win Friends & Influence PeopleПримерок
Day 1: The Power of a Genuine Interest in Others
Scripture: Philippians 2:3-4
Quote: "You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you." - Dale Carnegie
What does the Bible say about taking a genuine interest in others?
Once you start to dig into the scriptures, you can’t unsee the wisdom God has given to us.
In Philippians 2:3-4, Paul writes, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
This principle completely aligns with Dale Carnegie's insights on building meaningful relationships and influencing people positively.
Let's consider the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus found in Luke 19:1-10. Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, was despised by the people due to his occupation and dishonest practices.
Yet, when Jesus entered Jericho, He chose to show genuine interest in Zacchaeus, calling him by name and inviting Himself to Zacchaeus' home.
This act of love and kindness transformed Zacchaeus, leading him to repentance and a new life.
In your interactions with others, be like Jesus. Be genuine and be caring for people.
Instead of focusing solely on your own interests, seek opportunities to serve, connect with, and learn from others.
By doing so, you will not only win friends but also reflect God's love and compassion in your relationships.
As you go about your day, take a moment to consider the people around you.
How can you show genuine interest in their lives?
What small acts of kindness and attention can you extend to those you encounter?
I just love how the Bible is the original wisdom. Dig into it every single day and watch how your life and the lives of others around you transform.
I’m rooting for you. But more importantly - I’m praying with you.
God bless.
