Stressed OutПримерок
Our faith history is a rich one. This passage from Hebrews comes right after the long list of forefathers and foremothers in the faith who followed God well until the day they were with Him face-to-face. We don’t know what this passage means—if the God-followers who have gone before us, the great cloud of witnesses, can see us now or not—but we do know their stories. We do know how they followed God during their time on earth. And it’s very likely that we each have our own Halls of Faith, stories of family members and friends we knew on earth and how they followed Jesus until they went home to Him. Now each of them is face-to-face with our Father. Now that they’re with the Father, what do you think they would say to you now? What do you think they’d say to you about your what-ifs?
The reality is one day your what-ifs will be no more. When you’re fully in God’s Kingdom, they’ll be in the rearview mirror forever. You will be a child of the King then and you are a child of the King now. How can you live now in light of the reality that You are a child of the King right now? Think about what your faith predecessors would say to you and live in light of their advice. The same Father who is taking care of them now is taking care of you as well. As you trust Him in faith, maybe you will be someone else’s Hall of Faith, following Jesus well on this side of Heaven.

Life can leave us feeling helpless and weighed down. But being stressed out is not how God wants us to live. We’ll look at what God wants us to do with the stress we feel.
