Galatians 18-Day Reading Plan

10 ДЕН ОД 18

Imagine that you knew when you celebrated your 18th birthday you would inherit $100 million from a family member. Even though you can’t spend the money until you turn 18, you know the money belongs to you. You can’t lose it no matter what you do, and it’s only a matter of time before you can have it. How would you live? Would you live confidently? Would you be hopeful about the future?

That’s what the Apostle Paul is trying to teach in Galatians. Anyone who has committed their life to Jesus Christ and accepted God’s forgiveness for their sins is a son and heir of Jesus. You don’t have to live like someone unsure of their future or standing with God.

Sadly, most people don’t live a “rich” life of an heir. Instead of a satisfying and fulfilling life, they live with a slave mentality, day to day hoping to impress God by their performance and “earn” his blessing.

God loves you because you are his son (or daughter), and he has given you the inheritance of eternal life. While you can’t reap all the rewards of your inheritance in this life, you can still live like someone who knows their future is secure, and God’s feelings about you are unswayed.

Are you living like a son or a slave? As you go through your day, find ways to remind yourself that God loves you at your best and at your worst. Your inheritance is not based on what you do, it’s based on what Jesus did. You can’t mess it up!

Question

How does knowing that God accepts you as His child change what you do or think?
