Harness Your Energy for Good

One definition of energy is the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. Energy, when harnessed for a specific purpose, such as capitalizing on wind power or the sun’s strength to create solar energy, is a mighty force. Energy is what human beings use for living their everyday lives. It takes less energy to sleep than it does to walk, but it is energy usage nonetheless.

Energy drives everything. It is a powerful gift, this energy; but are we putting it to maximum use to extract the highest benefit for our lives, in our businesses or careers? And are we harnessing the necessary energy to succeed in our future?

I am curiously interested in observing human behavior, studying body language and being aware of people’s emotions in daily conversation. It gets me thinking about how much powerful energy we harness for purposeful living, and how much energy we dissipate because of negative thinking, futile speaking and mindless actions.

Two things come to mind: As much as energy can be harnessed from the wind, if it is not put to the right use or pointed in the right direction, it becomes wasted energy. Second, it doesn’t matter how much energy you may have, if you are not directing it into constructive thinking or the right activities, you will become drained and fatigued, and worn down from excessive energy expenditure in all the wrong places. Energy preservation and conservation produces a lifelong result.

However, it requires moment-by-moment healthy choices if we want to efficiently conserve our energy for the important matters in our lives and for us to finish well. Trying to be like someone else depletes your energy, and imitation muddies your uniqueness. Now is the time to align your life with your innate abilities and give energetic expression to the authentic masterpiece that God created you to be.
