Whispers From the Olive Tree

4 DIENA NO 7

WE GIVE LIGHT

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV

The olive tree’s association with light stems from its ancient role as a source of oil used in lamps, particularly the lamps of the Tabernacle and Temple in Jerusalem. It was used to brighten the darkness in homes, important buildings, street lighting, tombs, and as light in various other settings.

Similarly, seniors become beacons of light for younger generations through our love, support, and guidance. We share the light of our wisdom, offering insights and perspectives, illuminating their paths.

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish amid a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:14-15 ESV

AFFIRMATION: As a senior, I am a beacon of light for younger generations, radiating love, support, and guidance. Through the warmth of my wisdom, I illuminate their paths, offering valuable insights and perspectives. I embrace the role of a guiding light, fostering growth and understanding and contributing to the brighter future of those who follow in my footsteps.
