Recover From Sexual BetrayalParaugs
How Am I Going to Get Through This?
Infidelity in marriage or a committed relationship is not a lighthearted matter. It is not something that you will just get over-- healing and recovery are what you need. Depending on the betrayal and where both of your hearts are on this side of it will determine whether or not you are willing to work through this with your significant other. Regardless of what your significant other chooses, you can choose to heal for yourself.
Be kind to yourself. You are fragile, and you are vulnerable, but you are not without hope! The Lord knows your coming and your going, and every thought in your head. He knows your worries, fears, and anxiety. He was able to calm a raging storm; He saved three men from a fiery pit, cast out demons, sickness, and disease. He longs to perform a miracle in your heart as well. There are so many things we can dwell on, but not all of them will be productive and conducive with our longing for healing.
We may never get all the answers that we want this side of heaven as to why this happened, but we can, without a doubt, seek the One who has all of the answers for our healing. He longs to bring restoration and wholeness. He has your best interest at heart, and nothing is impossible for Him to resurrect! We can confidently ask God to heal us and restore us to the joy we once had, no matter how long ago that may seem. When we ask Him according to His word, He is faithful to bring His promises to fruition in our lives.
Prayer: Father, I long for healing. I long for your tender touch and your warm embrace. I need you, Lord. Please heal my broken heart and bring about restoration and redemption in my life. I trust my heart to you, and I thank you in advance for what you will do to bring about healing and wholeness in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
