Always With Us
This beautiful and well-known Psalm focuses on the Lord whose tender care, ceaseless vigilance, and personal presence impart to life all their colours and satisfactions. Look at the Lord’s involvement: He makes, He leads, He restores, He guides, He prepares a table, He anoints my head. The Lord is with us the whole way through all aspects of our lives, always. Our cups run over because of His goodness and mercy.
The image is of the Lord as guide and protector through all aspects of life. From lying down in green pastures and quiet still waters, through the darkest valleys, the Lord is there, the journey is protected. It doesn’t mean there won’t be difficulties or tough times, but it does mean that the Lord is there with us always, all the time.
He has demonstrated this most fully through the provision of His Son Jesus who, as John writes (3:17), did not come into the world to condemn it but to save it.
That brings true comfort and contentment.

Life has a way of throwing us curve balls. Things may be on track then all of a sudden the unexpected happens and we stand surrounded by the pieces of things that were. We also live in a world where there is a constant striving for more. So as Christians, how can we live our faith out when life throws you curve balls and in the world of ‘more’?
