Day Nine: Jesus is the Bread of Life.

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. [...] And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. — John 6: 33, 35 

There is a hunger in my life that food and drink cannot satisfy. I think that’s true about every one of us. We were born with a vast eternal hole inside of us that only Jesus can fill. That’s true for the unbeliever. That causes him to believe. And it's true about believers. We are created to be filled with the essence of Jesus to truly satisfy us. His Words, His presence, His love—they fill us.

When you read God’s Word, you are experiencing His very essence and presence. His Words are spirit and they are life. We are spirit-beings and can only be satisfied by spiritual food, spiritual energy, spiritual light and love. You are filled today with God’s love and presence. Believe that, and peace and satisfaction will come. 

In the ups and downs, and the feelings that come and go, take confidence that you are NOT your feelings. Eat of God’s Word, and you will be satisfied. Believe what He says, and joy and peace will flow like a river. (Romans 15:13). He will satisfy you in the driest of times. He will sustain you. Trust Him today. 

Say So: Jesus is the bread of life. He satisfies me and completes me. He fills the deepest needs in my heart and soul. His Word is His life and I eat of His word today. It sustains me, fills me and brings the strength I need today and every day, in Jesus’ Name.
