Set your heart on things above 

Heart operations are very serious procedures because the heart pumps oxygenated blood around the body, keeping the body healthy and alive. Taking care of your heart directly affects your whole body. Your spiritual self works in exactly the same way. What your heart is set on directly affects you spiritually. The Bible tells us to set the direction of our hearts on things in heaven, where Jesus rules and sits at God's right hand. 

Jesus taught us to pray "on earth as it is in heaven." If we were in heaven right now, we would be breathing in the atmosphere of heaven. We'd be taking in the majesty of God where peace knows no end and our relationship with the Father has reached its fullest expression. Our attention would be fixed on the One who sits on the throne as He sustains everything around Him. 

Take time now to worship and place God as most important in your life; after all, that is what we will be doing in heaven one day.
