Living With A Fire Devotional - Jesus Culture

13 DIENA NO 14

How Amazing - Kim Walker-Smith

When you stop to consider and think about the powerful work of the cross and the sacrifice that Jesus made when he gave His life for us, it is truly overwhelming.

Today, take a moment to think about how incredible it really is and allow your heart to swell with gratitude for the One who gave all for you. The vastness of his never-ending love cannot be outdone. It was His great love for us that caused Him to choose the cross, even though there would be times we would reject Him.

It was the deep desire to be reconciled to the ones created in His image that drove Him to take on the weight of sin for the whole world. As His blood was spilled out, the atonement was made, once and for all. In that moment beautiful grace was extended to us. A grace that gives us permission to come into His presence and worship Him face to face. It’s a grace that covers us and ushers in forgiveness. After three days, Jesus raises from the dead, conquering the power of sin and death forever! We no longer have to live bound to sin or any other thing that tries to weigh us down and come between us and God. Where once we felt lost, we are now found! God’s mercy triumphed over judgment and it is finished, once and for all! There is no more condemnation and we can live in total freedom.

I’m so thankful for the amazing gift Jesus gave. I’m overwhelmed by His perfect love. The story of the cross is the foundation of our Christianity and something we all know and sing about as Christians. But today, take the time to really allow the reality of the cross and what Jesus did, to sink into your heart. Ask God to reveal a fresh revelation of what the cross means for you and worship Him! He is so worthy and so deserving of all our worship and gratitude! And let us follow His example and lay down our lives for Him, surrendering all to Jesus, holding nothing back from Him, and giving Him all that we have and all that we are.
