The Family Unit

In recent years we have seen a dissipation of the family unit. Not only do people shack up together, but mothers are left to raise their children without the stabilization of fathers. The fathers have shirked their responsibility to raise their own offspring, and this has had a devastating effect on society.

Fathers are not the glory of children, because the children don’t even know who their fathers are. So we have kids who grow up with no respect for the police and law, and, more importantly, no fear of God. They lie, steal, and kill, and couldn’t care less.

Psalm 11:3 asks, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The only answer is for us to preach the everlasting foundation of the gospel as we’ve never done before.

Soul Search: Where do I find my stability? Is it in the knowledge of my Father’s love?

Father, help me to be content with the love you expressed at the cross. Amen.
