Feeling Better: Devotions From Time Of GracePavyzdys
My Mind: I'm so lonely
"Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name; nobody came. . . . All the lonely people, where do they all come from?" Have you ever felt as though that anthem to loneliness was written for your life?
Loneliness has nothing to do with how many other people are passing through your life. In fact, some of the deepest pangs of loneliness come when you feel totally disconnected, unnoticed, and "uncared for" by the many people who happen to be around. Seeing other people enjoying happy relationships only intensifies the fear of being alone.
Conquering that fear starts with getting reacquainted with your Creator, your heavenly Father, and with his Son, the heavenly Bridegroom, whose greatest desire is to love you and be loved by you forever. Have you read his love letters to you lately? "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you" (Psalm 9:10).
When you are confident of God's love, you can look up from the ground and might just notice some of the kind people whom God is sending into your life.
